Interpretations are significant, but are they accurate? Your perception is key. What you believe matters more than you may currently realize.
Do you ask for clarification when you do not understand what someone is saying to you? Are they talking about you or thinking about themselves within this discussion?
Perception – Clarity
Do you believe their comments are really about you? Do you internalize their words and what you earlier perceived within the conversation? This may cause some irritation. But why did they say this thing about you? Should you take offense to it? Let’s say you are significantly impacted by your perceptions and these interpretations. Seek clarity instead.
Rather than react to clarify their statement, do you instead internalize your frustration? In doing so, if you felt some angst without choosing to acknowledge your feelings, recognize that you have elected to store some new emotional baggage. It will remain with you until you’re ready to deal with it. At some point, you’ll need to acknowledge and feel this stored energy. Each awaits your reflection and engagement. They await your desire to feel them.
Emotions
情绪
And when an emotion is stored and then forgotten about, it does (in time) impact your world. By the time the conversation is over, you may not remember all that was said. Yet your body, which is the repository of emotion, does remember. And so years later, you may accumulate lots of emotional energy. This energy may lay dormant but internally active, nonetheless.
Over time, these unexpressed emotions out-picture themselves through an assortment of maladies. Perhaps they are out-pictured through limited body function, disease, or illness. Do they morph into body aches, unexpected pains, or neuroses that are unexplained … “…how did this or that happen? I wasn’t doing anything that should have caused this issue. I don’t understand.”
So there you are… one day feeling perfectly fine, and the next, an unexplained and unwelcome pain comes into play.
We are Here to Address Such Questions
We want you to have the tools to alleviate unnecessary aches and pains. Might you begin by inserting a mental pause to those things you question? Why internalize errant thoughts? You presume but don’t really know for sure what was meant if you don’t seek immediate clarity.
Are you on the right track or going in the wrong direction? Your perception is key to taking the best next step.
Present Moment Awareness is Recommended
Continual mental oversight is advised. Become the guardian of your thoughts. Monitor the thoughts you are thinking. Monitor, observe, and shift away from thoughts that make you feel unhappy by choosing to focus on those that feel better.
Do you believe this to be a simple thing to do? Begin today by looking upon thoughts as they appear mentally. Do not judge them. Only observe these thoughts. Do some seem silly or inappropriate? Consider each and without judgment, release them. Allow them to float away as you engage other thoughts that are more in keeping with where you prefer to maintain your focus.
Your focused attention is most important. Set the intention to allow only those things that bring you joy and happiness. Limit what you allow within your day. Allow in only those things that you wish to have grown within the day. Move in this way rather than in any other.
Choose better thoughts to focus on and recognize everything said is not about you. Can you let words to incite anger go over or flow through you without letting them impact you? Choose to think thoughts that make you feel good. This will allow your body to breathe. Yes – to breathe. Otherwise, the tense and tight way it feels has no means of release. And release perceptions held. You cannot know what another is thinking unless you ask for their input to elicit clarity. What you perceive may not be as you believe.
And so it goes.
